Piscine Molitor Patel (Pi)
Pi is the main character of the story. He is a teenage Indian boy, son of a zookeeper. He practices three religions, Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. His faith and knowledge of animal help him survive 227 days at sea in a lifeboat with a 450 pound Bengal tiger.
